Lytchee Jelly

Fantastic !
Kyoo no Kudamono (Today's fruits)

You have real lytchees without stones, in a jelly ! I used to eat fresh fruits or fruits with a kind of water juice but never in jelly. Here in Tokyo, you can find that with oranges, pineapples, mandarines etc...Funny but be careful, it always moves and slips (just like pudding !). Be honored to eat new generation fruits !

NB : It is not too expensive and it enables you to eat fruits because we can't really afford to buy fresh fruits everyday (a single apple costs about 300 yen ! whereas in France, it is one of the cheapest fruit)...

Green Pancake VS Bean Ball

I bought this the day we went to Odaiba.

It is a green pancake (couldn't find what it was made of...) with red beans inside (you may think I am fond of this but I can't help it if everything Japanese do are with beans and green tea !)
Actually, it wasn't so bad, there are no particular comments to do on it. It was like a sweet sandwich !

In the box, there was also something I couldn't determine first. Yeah I know what you may think....sorry if I disappoint you, but it was "only" a ball made of red beans (once again).

2 Green Pancakes + 2 Red Bean Balls for 258 yen...
So, do you wanna taste ?

My last Mochis for Japan (let's move on !!)

Here is a picture of another kind of Mochi (there are so many of them OMG)...
These ones were not too bad. They look like black Chinese nougats and so was the taste...
There are sesame around it and it is soft inside...very sweet.

The problem : (everyone ate one of them...and after you've fiinshed...you have plenty of cute little black things stuck on your teeth...charming hahahaha). Nice experiment though...

Hard Green Tea Cake

Also exists in Pink, White...

Well...I just wanted to try it eventhough it didn't seem tasty since the beginning...(58 yen)

After you bite in it (be careful because you can easily break your teeth on it), you will feel that your mouth is getting dry...It wasn't a pleasant sensation...It's like a French "Meringue" but worse than that...

It was only a pleasure for the eyes for me...And don't forget to bring a bottle of water with you or you'll suffer !

Rai-Su Mochi (aka Rice Mochi)

Don't know what I have with Mochis, but the day we went to Odaiba, I bought one of them in a convenient store. Yeah, it looked attractive (I love pink !).

The leaf that was around the Mochi was acid like plum, and there was a heavy smell of cinnamon (sorry Kamiru)...Everything was soft and inside there were red beans...I think that most of Western people don't like that. The taste remained in my mouth for hours even after the lunch so, if you wish to eat one, don't forget your toothbrush...

Well, once again, choose your Mochi well....

Ice (Green) Tea

Hi everyone !

Do you think I can broaden my topic, and add some articles about dessert you won't find anywhere in Europe ? Because yesterday night, we went to Starbucks in Shibuya and I took something made with green tea...cream et cranberry sauce I think. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name, but I'll tell you as soon as I see it again.

The price : 490 yen for a tall cup. And my impression : Well, very tasty at the beginning (if you like green tea of course)...but the more you drink, the stranger you feel hahahahha. There are always chemical taste after you swallow the beverage...Odd isn't it ?

Hmm everyone told me the same thing about it, but now I can say to my French friends : "Hey we have a "specy" of Starbucks you don't have in France". Okay...they won't envy me but will they know it wasn't so delicious if nobody tells them ?

Swiss Roll

You might say I didn't respect my contract because I ate something called "Swiss".
But after having checked, it is actually not from there (Yocatta !).
So, this cake costs 100 yen and is very tasty. I have already eaten something like this in my home town (Paris's Chinatown) so, no shock or suprise for me.
You can see something like cream inside, which is sweet, and the whole thing is soft. It is like a normal cake...If you need something for a break and you are between friends, this is perfect (we ate that tonight as a dessert and I really enjoyed this moment).

The Swiss Roll doesn't represent a Japanese pastry, eventhough it is not Swiss. Nevertheless, it was good, but nothing stands out from it.

Mochi Mochi ?

Tonight, I opened my pack of "MITARASHI DANGO MOCHI". There are 7 of them for 150 yen. What is it ? It is a kind of glutinous rice (very smooth) with something inside that looks like jam...very sweet but strange for western taste. It is unusual. Well, I should say that the packaging is well done (it seems to be like that for every kind of Japanese food you take away, and please notice that there are also individual packs).

To tell you the truth, these are not the best mochi I have eaten in Japan...I tasted another kind of them, in Shinjuku in a shop called Mochi Cream (but it is more expensive -100 yen for ONE Mochi-. I took a Sakura Mochi...It was freezed inside and so GOOD...

To sum it up, choose the right Mochi if you don't want to be disappointed...

Inauguration

This is the first time I'm sharing my "pastry break" with you.

Let me explain to you the principle : I will give you as many details as possible so you can build your own opinion and then decide if it is worth tasting.

Of course, all this is subjective, and once again, don't take what I say for true, because everyone has his own notion of "delicious".

Enough blabla, let's begin !!
